On November 17, The Center announced that Genentech, Inc., a wholly-owned member of the Roche Group, will continue its exclusive sponsorship of the prestigious Nexus Award for Lifetime Achievement. The sponsorship is part of an ongoing commitment by the Center and Genentech to recognize and honor excellence in the healthcare distribution industry. Nexus Award recipients will be selected by the Nexus Award Committee from nominations received before February 11, 2011.

| The Industry Benchmarking Committee met to confirm the content of the HDMA Factbook surveys that will be launched in December. This unique publication provides an aggregated picture of the pharmaceutical supply chain based on primary data. Featured facts and trends include metrics on finance, operations and technology adoption by distributors, manufacturers and reverse distributors. The Committee also discussed plans to reach out to more participants, further increase the value of this book and broaden the audience for the 2010-2011 publication. |

| The Board of Directors for the Center for Healthcare Supply Chain Research recently met to discuss wrapping up 2010 activities and guiding projects for 2011 which include research on: Take Back Programs, Role of the Specialty Distributor, supply chain security, Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS), and ongoing projects identifying trends in the traditional and specialty supply chains. |

| The Center held its second annual Regional Benchmarking Forum on Friday, August 27th. The meeting offered HDMA’s regionally-based distributors a unique opportunity to explore the first results from the new Factbook and discuss important distribution channel benchmarks with Scott Hackworth of Industry Insights (the research company that compiles and analyzes the HDMA Factbook surveys).
Attendees also had the chance to hear important regulatory and public policy updates. |

Karen Ribler, EVP & COO of the Center for Healthcare Supply Chain Research spoke at the 30th Annual Schwartz Symposium, sponsored by Long Island University’s School of Pharmacy on Sunday, June 13th. Her talk provided an overview of trends in the specialty pharmaceuticals segment highlighting insights found in the Center’s Specialty Pharmaceuticals: Facts, Figures and Trends publication. Ribler also detailed an ongoing project on Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS) and development of regulations around REMS products.
