NEXUS Award Criteria

The NEXUS Award is presented annually to an HDMA member based on the
following criteria:

Experience

  • Nominee has at least 10 years of service in the industry
  • Nominee has either worked for an HDMA member company or has had extensive involvement with HDMA at some point in their career

Exemplary Service to the Industry/Community

  • Created or implemented innovative programs that advanced and supported HDMA member distributors as the efficient choice for product dissemination and delivery
  • Programs that resolved an industry challenge or advanced the effectiveness and efficiency of the industry. Examples may include anticipating emerging trends and developing future-focused programs and/or processes (e.g., specialty products)
  • Community service outside of professional life that exemplifies giving back to and improving the community. Examples may include mentoring young people or involvement in housing and health projects
  • Projects and/or actions demonstrating ethical conduct in the profession

Leadership Qualities

  • Evidence of leadership through service on HDMA Boards, Committees and Task Forces, as well as speaking engagements on behalf of the industry
  • Service on leadership boards and committees in other related industry organizations
  • Exceptional character and integrity
  • Attitude and actions that inspire others

Professional Excellence
Examples may include:

  • Exemplary contributions to the healthcare industry, such as receiving awards within the nominee’s company(ies)
  • Acknowledged expertise in nominee’s field
  • Building and strengthening relationships across the industry, to the benefit of customers and consumers
  • Helping customers to better understand industry programs and services
