CENTER FOR HEALTHCARE SUPPLY CHAIN RESEARCH HOSTS
CEO ROUNDTABLE FUNDRAISER

ARLINGTON, VA – April 9, 2009 – The Center for Healthcare Supply Chain Research, the 501 (c) (3) research foundation of the Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA), hosted its first annual CEO Roundtable Fundraiser on April 1 at the St. Regis New York. Honored guest John H. Hammergren, Chairman, President and CEO, McKesson Corporation, and John M. Gray, President and CEO of HDMA, led an interactive dialogue about the future of healthcare in today’s environment and the challenges the industry faces. The collegial discussion expanded upon Hammergren’s work in the book Skin in the Game: How Putting Yourself First Today Will Revolutionize Health Care Tomorrow.

“The Center is charged with conducting industry-wide research and educational programs that benefit the entire healthcare supply chain,” said Karen J. Ribler, Executive Vice President and COO of the Center. “Industry support, as exhibited at our first CEO Roundtable Fundraiser, enables our organization to fulfill its goal of producing meaningful research that helps to ensure a safe and secure supply chain.”

There was an extensive turnout of more than 120 top industry leaders from across the healthcare supply chain at the CEO Roundtable Fundraiser. The evening’s sponsor, Genentech, Inc., provided the initial funding and the CEO Roundtable Steering Committee–Patrick J. Blake, McKessonSpecialty Care Solutions; Robert W. Belknap, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; and Antonio Pera, AmerisourceBergen Corporation–guided the program development to create a memorable evening. As a result of its success, the Center’s Board of Directors plans to hold the event annually. Photos will be provided upon request.
