On August 18, the Center for Healthcare Supply Chain Research hosted the first annual Regional Distributor Benchmarking Forum at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront in Baltimore. The fundraiser was attended by HDMA regional distributor members, including Smith Drug Company; Burlington Drug Company, Inc.; R&S Northwest, LLC; Dik Drug Co.; and others.
The forum was moderated by Scott Hackworth, Vice President of Industry Insights, the research firm that conducts the annual HDMA Factbook survey. He presented the most recent survey findings and led discussions focused on subject areas such as finance, operations and the use of information technology. Participants discussed and analyzed these key benchmarking metrics and provided suggestions to further enhance the survey program.
Karen Ribler, Executive Vice President and COO of the Center, reflected on the event. “The Center has a wealth of information that can help HDMA distributor members make informed decisions about their business,” she said. “Providing regional distributors with tailored data about their performance will help them fine-tune their company’s business strategy and strengthen our efforts to promote security and efficiency across the entire supply chain.”
