Highlights From the Center’s Successful Supply Chain Security Seminar

Held in Alexandria, Virginia on May 10-11th, more than 50 supply chain professionals—including distributors, manufacturers, service providers, security and regulatory experts — gathered for the Center’s Supply Chain Security seminar.

Seminar attendees participate in a role-playing exercise centered on a simulated cargo theft.

Supply Chain Security Seminar a Huge Success

Karen Ribler, the Center’s Executive Vice President and COO, kicked off the event with an explanation of the program’s development and shared highlights from the Center's 2009 In-Transit Study.  Chuck Forsaith of Purdue Pharma Technologies, Inc., provided a “state of the union” on security within the industry, as well as highlighted the role the Pharmaceutical Cargo Security Coalition (PCSC) has been playing in supply chain recovery efforts.  The event also included a role play exercise that shed light on the responsibility of each supply chain participant if an in-transit theft incidence were to occur; presentations from the FDA and DEA noted recommended approaches to securing the supply chain, and breakout sessions were held on a variety of security topics.
