Distributors regularly use ice packs and insulated boxes to properly control temperature while transporting product. One-third of distributors also employ refrigerated boxes or temperature monitoring devices. Distributors use a variety of tactics depending on what is needed; some drop points may not have a patient or clinic personnel available to receive the product, which is why insulated boxes and ice packs are so prevalent.
